Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 30, 2026

Overview

ClawVibe ("the App") is a voice and chat client that connects to your self-hosted OpenClaw server. Your privacy is fundamental to how the App is designed. This policy explains what data the App handles, where it goes, and what stays on your device.

Data That Stays on Your Device

  • Voice audio — Speech recognition runs entirely on-device using iOS SpeechAnalyzer. Your voice audio is never transmitted to ClawVibe or any third party. Only the transcribed text is sent to your OpenClaw server.
  • TTS synthesis — Text-to-speech is performed on-device using the Kokoro neural engine. No audio data leaves your device for TTS.
  • Voice fingerprint data — MFCC biometric features are extracted on-device and are not transmitted or stored externally.
  • Credentials — Your server URL and device token are stored in the iOS Keychain and never leave your device.
  • Chat history — Message history is stored locally on your device.

Data Sent to Your OpenClaw Server

The App connects to an OpenClaw server that you configure and control. The following data is sent to your server when you interact with the App:

  • Message text — Transcribed speech or typed messages.
  • Location data — If you grant location permission, GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading) are attached to messages to enable location-aware responses. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Device token — A unique token used to authenticate your device with your server.
  • Presence status — Idle, listening, speaking, or away indicators.
  • Device context — Date, time, and timezone for contextual responses.

ClawVibe does not operate any servers. All server-side data is handled by your own OpenClaw infrastructure, under your control.

Data We Collect

ClawVibe does not directly collect, store, or transmit your personal data to ClawVibe or its developers. We do not operate our own analytics or telemetry services. We do not have access to your messages, voice data, or location.

However, the App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, which may collect certain data as described in the Advertising section below.

Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is provided by Google LLC and may collect and process certain data to serve ads, including:

  • Device identifiers — Such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), when you have granted tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
  • IP address — Used for approximate geographic targeting and fraud prevention.
  • Device information — Device model, operating system version, screen size, language, and timezone.
  • Ad interaction data — Information about ads viewed, tapped, or dismissed.
  • App usage data — Such as session duration and app version, used for ad performance measurement.

If you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads and will not access your IDFA. You can change this setting at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Google's use of advertising data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

  • Declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt when it appears.
  • Disabling tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Resetting your Advertising Identifier in iOS Settings.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service integrated into the App is Google AdMob for displaying advertisements. See the Advertising section above for details on data collection.

The App also connects to your self-hosted OpenClaw server, which is not a third-party service — it is infrastructure you own and control. Your OpenClaw server may route requests to AI providers (such as Anthropic) depending on your configuration. This is outside the App's control and governed by your server's configuration and the respective provider's privacy policy.

Location Data

The App requests location permission to provide location-aware AI responses. Location data is sent only to your OpenClaw server and is never shared with ClawVibe or any third party. You can disable location access at any time through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.

Microphone & Speech Recognition

The App uses the device microphone for voice input. All speech recognition is performed on-device by Apple's SpeechAnalyzer framework. Audio data is not recorded, stored, or transmitted. Only transcribed text is sent to your OpenClaw server.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
