Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to use ClawVibe?

ClawVibe requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later, and a self-hosted OpenClaw server. The App connects to your server — it does not include its own AI backend.

How do I pair my device?

When you first launch ClawVibe, you'll be guided through a pairing flow. Enter your OpenClaw server URL, and the App will generate a device token. Approve the pairing request on your server to complete setup.

Does ClawVibe work offline?

Speech recognition and text-to-speech both run on-device — no internet needed for voice processing. However, sending messages to your AI agent requires a network connection to your OpenClaw server.

Why does ClawVibe need location access?

Location is optional. When enabled, GPS coordinates are included with your messages so your AI agent can give location-aware responses (e.g., nearby recommendations, weather). You can disable this at any time in iOS Settings.

Why does ClawVibe need microphone access?

The microphone is used for voice input. All speech recognition happens on-device — your audio is never sent to ClawVibe or any third party. Only the transcribed text is sent to your OpenClaw server.

Does ClawVibe work with CarPlay?

Yes. ClawVibe integrates with CarPlay and the iOS lock screen via Now Playing controls. You can start and stop voice listening using the play/pause button on your car's dashboard or lock screen.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

An Apple Watch companion app is currently in development. It will support voice input from your wrist and relay messages through your iPhone or directly over WiFi.

How do I switch between agents?

Use the agent picker in the App to switch between different OpenClaw agents configured on your server. Each agent can have a different AI model and personality.
